The poetry performance was definitely fun and different to do.  I have had a lot of practice public speaking and such.  However reciting a poem is quite different from talking.  I enjoyed the poem and spent hours memorizing but as soon as I began I blanked.  I was concentrating on trying to remain in character and recite my lines and got lost.  However it was fun and a great learning experience.  I had fun and enjoyed listening to what others did and was encompassing the entire show under the blanket. I must admit I did a lot better with the crowd than I had done before with the practice.  I definitely sensed that the students felt like it may have been a waste of their time but was glad they were making eye contact.  That was pretty much a great way to tell me they were listening.  I also think they felt that they were uncomfortable for us. haha.... They can only picture themselves doing a similar activity for a group of students in their future.  All in all I had fun and believe I learned from it. I felt that the storytelling we did in the summer was easier for me to complete for some reason.
