Attention!  Do you often find yourself unable to find the perfect book? Here are some suggestions to get you started and they are GOOD!

Keeping the Rope Straight
By Carolyn Niethammer

This book must be in your collection.  If you like books that are hard to put down this is the book for you!  If you like hearing stories of strong women who help those within their community THIS book is for you!  Not only is the book informative of the Navajo culture it is also informative of surrounding health issues.

Navajo Long Walk
By: Joseph Bruchac
Illustrated by:  Shonto Begay

I believe that this book is incredibly beautiful all the way down to the illustrations.  It described the Navajo Long Walk that will paint pictures in your mind eternally.  The book was detailed and added Navajo words and also added the meaning.

A Braid of Lives
Edited By: Neil Phillip

This book was put together beautifully.  I enjoyed reading all the different entries from different tribes while they were growing up.  It helps me understand how things were at that time and how continuity is important and makes the native american culture stronger.
